Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Coinciding with the Open Doors of Creation, Tabakalera cinema programme will offer several projections of film students. Nest is the competitive section of the San Sebastian International Film Festival organized in collaboration with Tabakalera for short films by students from film schools all over the world. This year 13 short films participated and there was a winner El reinado de Antoine by José Luis Jiménez Gómez o the EICTV school in Cuba. This screening will be completed by the winner short film, the Making of of this edition and two films that participated in Nest from filmmakers studying in Elías Querejeta Zine eskola: El tercer paisaje by Julen Etxebarria and Chuvas de verão by Mário Veloso.

In a Cuban village, Visman, a young man obsessed with historical fantasies, takes refuge in them to explore the complexity of his family ties and social environment. With the responsibility of caring for his disabled father alone, he attempts to bring his epic tale El reinado de Antoine (The Reign of Antoine) to life as he defies everyday adversity and searches for an escape in a crumbling world.
Interrupting the silence, punctuated by the late summer rain, a group of boys shatters the matriarchal memory of an old bedroom. In the face of impending danger, the older boys vie for leadership. As the afternoon stretches on with the intensity of the rain and the heat inside rises, they resort to violence. In the vulnerability of a wounded body, Chico, the young misfit, encounters a tragic portent of desire.
The fungus Microsphaerella dearnessi, which affects the insigne pine variety has stained the forests of the Basque Country brown, even infecting the painted forest of Oma, the artwork of the Basque artist Agustin Ibarrola. This work belongs to the Land Art movement, which is mainly characterised by its ephemeral nature. Within this movement, artists leave their works on display at the mercy of weather conditions and other elements beyond human control.

It's an audiovisual piece that EQZE students do every year. From a cinematic point of view, the San Sebastian Film Festival receives an edition of the series that brings together young filmmakers.
