A popular selection of the major releases, shown on a screen of 400 square metres, in a theatre with seating for almost 3,000 spectators.
Furthermore, every morning the Festival devotes the Velodrome to a programme agreed to with schools, showing a film in Basque on the big screen. From 2019, the theme of the film is related to science and it is presented by scientists from the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC).
The Velodrome is also the setting for two of the Festival’s most popular events: the film music concert given on the first Saturday by the Basque National Orchestra and the session on the last day of the Festival featuring a broadcast of the closing gala together with screening of the films closing the Official Selection and Perlak.
