Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The San Sebastian Festival, Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture and the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola organises the second year of the initiative focused on the directors of today and tomorrow. Kabia is a day dedicated to up-and-coming film talents coming with two activities on Monday 23rd at the Tabakalera audiovisual laboratory: the Kabia Breakfast (10:00-12:00) and Kabia Networking (19:00-23:00).
Both activities will unite teams from films in the Nest section (a selection of shorts by students from film schools worldwide) with participants in the Ikusmira Berriak residencies and project development programme and the community of Tabakalera: moviemakers selected for Noka and students from the Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. Kabia aims to unite the communities of these programmes and sections, thereby enabling them to share ideas and projects and to give them direct access to industry professionals selected for their different profiles: from production, festival programming, development programmes and laboratories, to funds and grants, so that they can give them valuable feedback on their professional careers and films.
The event will also include talents from other programmes with which the Festival, Tabakalera and the EQZE collaborate during the year, a selection from La Incubadora, the Residència de guions, the Academia de Cine Residencies and Mannheim’s annual Cutting Edge Talent Camp.
Entry is by invitation only.
