Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The Management of the San Sebastian Film Festival would like to show its solidarity with the Argentine film industry in the face of the exceptional situation it is experiencing with the paralysis of many of its projects, the emptying of content from the INCAA, and with the measures that this government is taking that threaten the development, not only of its film industry but also of other expressions of its culture.
pressions of its culture. The Management of the San Sebastian Film Festival wants to make it quite clear that this support does not mean any interference in Argentine politics. For years we have collaborated with an INCAA that has had different political persuasions belonging to governments that have been conservative, more or less liberal, and right- or left-wing. With all of them, and with their own particular characteristics that it is up to Argentine citizens themselves to define, the Argentine industry has managed to develop normally and become one of the most important in Latin America, showing a positive image of the country and being an economic engine for it.
Today, the San Sebastian Film Festival, as a cultural expression, cannot remain on the sidelines of the dismantling of a national film industry by a government that, in addition, justifies a military dictatorship that murdered thousands of its citizens.
of its citizens. Long live Argentine cinema!
