Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Animation filmmaker Izibene Oñederra (Azkoitia, Spain) is a doctor and lecturer in the painting department of the Fine Arts Faculty of the UPV-EHU. She is also co-founder of the audiovisual group Zine Mapa at the Arteleku Centre in San Sebastian. Hezurbeltzak, una fosa común (2007), which she directed, was shown at important international competitions such as the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and received numerous awards and mentions. The short films Hotzanak, For Your Own Safety (2013) and Lursaguak (2019) were in competition at Annecy. He has also participated in the films of the group that emerged from the Faculty of Fine Arts. In collaboration with animation director Isabel Herguera, he signed Kutxa Beltza (2016), a piece included in the feature film Kalebegiak (Velódromo, 2016), and he also worked on Herguera's feature film El sueño de la sultana / Sultana's Dream (Official Selection, 2023). In collaboration with Isabel Herguera's production company Sultana Films, he produced her latest animated short film Etorriko da (Eta zure begiak izango ditu) / When It Comes (It Will Have Your Eyes), which premiered at the Annecy Film Festival and will be screened in the Zabaltegi-Tabakalera section of this year's San Sebastian Festival.
