Luis Suárez de Lezo (Madrid) is a graduate in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and pursued his training in the Management of Public and Private Interests at the Instituto de Empresas as well as two Master’s Degrees in International Commerce and Strategic SME Management. Since 2008, he has been Secretary General of the Alcobendas Association of Industry and Commerce and, since 2011, also of the Association for Innovation Development in North Madrid.
He specialises in the management of non-profit organisations and the defence of interests, experience and knowledge. One of the strengths enabling him to align his passion for gastronomy with his professional career is having been president of the Madrid Academy of Gastronomy for 7 years.
During that time he created the Community of Madrid Gastronomy Awards, an event consolidated today as a foodie benchmark in the city, and which gave the sector a boost from the social, cultural, economic and sustainability points of view.
In September 2023 he was elected president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, a public law body whose main aim is to spread news of and protect Spain’s gastronomic culture. Luis Suárez de Lezo is an enthusiastic advocate of diverse, accessible, sustainable and quality gastronomy.
