Javier Suárez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain) is a food journalist who has been covering the San Sebastian Festival since 2014.
In 2017 he decided to specialise in gastronomy, training as a food critic on the course run by the digital portal GastroActitud, directed by Julia Pérez Lozano and José Carlos Capel.
Today he heads the Por Fogones section of the digital daily Canarias Ahora (the regional section of ElDiario.es) while directing the radio programme GastroUD on UDRadio (official station of the First Division football team, Unión Deportiva Las Palmas).
He occasionally works with the Gran Canaria Council through the company Gran Canaria Me Gusta, or with the Government of the Canary Islands via the Volcanic Xperience brand. Added to this, he organises and presents several specialised events throughout the Canary Islands as well as at Madrid Fusión and the Salón Gourmet.
