Medellín, the 90s. This is Colombia's most violent decade. Unawares, Sofía (15) and her mother, Lorena (45), live a life of luxury. Their fragmented relationship due to Lorena's lack of attention towards Sofía becomes obvious when Carlos, the father and husband, doesn't return from a journey. His absence makes them poor in a way they had never experienced. Lorena will undertake all sorts of illegal endeavours to keep the family economy afloat while trying to be the mother she never has been. Sofía will have to learn to accept her mother the way she is and to assume among her privileged friends the fact that she is the daughter of a mobster who isn't away travelling, but is a prisoner in the USA.
