Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Anew San Sebastian Festival is starting marked by the Hollywood scriptwriters’ and actors’ strike. This strike will mean that there will be fewer American filmmakers attending the Festival than in other years, however this will not prevent us from enjoying the great celebration of cinema that the Festival represents with more than 200 films in its programme and nearly 5,000 accredited guests and many actors and actresses from Europe and other parts of the world who will be joining us.
This situation is also going to prevent our dear Donostia Award winner, Javier Bardem, from picking up his award this year, but he will do so at the opening gala for the 2024 Festival. This year he will still be accompanying us as the image of our festival on posters and various advertising platforms.
Our festival will once again be a meeting place between the film industry, the media and the audience in which films will be screened to be promoted and disseminated, deals will be made and experiences will be exchanged.
The San Sebastian festival aims to be a space for freedom, as we have said on other occasions, in which different ways of understanding cinema and life can coexist. With just one condition: that each one of them respects those that are different to their own. We invite you all to enjoy this extraordinary festival of cinema.
