The actress Glenn Close has had to cancel her visit to San Sebastian Festival at the last minute due to a family emergency. The Argentinian producer Matías Mosteirín will be the president of the jury.

Close conveyed to the Festival her regrets for not being able to attend a duty to which she felt very committed. Just last week, the star of Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons posted a video on her social media in which she expressed her enthusiasm about chairing the Festival Official Jury, “a new adventure I’ve never done before”. “I love San Sebastian, people are fantastic, I’m really looking forward to seeing some wonderful films and I’m very excited about meeting my fellow jury members”, she said.

It won’t be possible this year, as she points in the statement she wishes to share with the Festival and its audience:

The Official Jury will be made up of the following members: the casting director and filmmaker Antoinette Boulat (France), the director and screenwriter Tea Lindeburg (Denmark), the author and journalist Rosa Montero (Spain), the filmmaker and visual artist Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese (Lesotho), the director and screenwriter Hlynur Pálmason (Iceland) and the producer Matías Mosteirín (Argentina), who will preside over the Jury.

MATÍAS MOSTEIRÍN

The first feature film from Matías Mosteirin (Buenos Aires) as a producer, Bolivia (Adrian Caetano, Made in Spanish Award), received the Young Critics Award at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. He has collaborated with the producer Lita Stantic on the executive production of titles including Mundo Grúa (Crane World, Pablo Trapero, 1999), La ciénaga (The Swamp, Lucrecia Martel, Perlak, 2001), La niña santa (The Holy Girl, Lucrecia Martel, 2004), and Un oso rojo (Red Bear, Adrián Caetano, Made in Spanish, 2002).

He recently executive produced Marcelo Piñeyro’s series El Reino (The Realm, 2021), for Netflix. In 2021 he received the prestigious Platinum Konex for his career.
