Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
After studying modern literature, between 2001 and 2008, Paolo Moretti (Brescia, Italy) worked for several film festivals and institutions in Europe, including the Centre Pompidou, Filmoteca Española, Cinemateca Portuguesa, Leeds Film Festival and Cinéma du Réel. From 2008 to 2011, he was program advisor and assistant to the director at the Venice Film Festival. In 2012 and 2013, he was a program advisor for the Rome Film Festival. Since 2012, he has been collaborating with the Visions du Réel festival (Nyon), as a member of the selection committee (2012-2017), then as an artistic advisor. From 2012 to 2018, he was a member of the selection committee of FIDMarseille. He is an associate producer of the American independent feature L for Leisure by Lev Kalman and Whitney Horn, presented at the IFFR Rotterdam in 2014. Between 2014 and 2020, he worked as a director of the La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival and of the arthouse cinema Le Concorde. Between 2018 and 2022, he has been the general delegate of the Directors’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival. Since 2020, he directs the arthouse cinema Les Cinémas du Grütli in Geneva and he is currently head of the Cinema Department at the ECAL, University of Art and Design Lausanne.
