Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Sergio Oksman (São Paulo, Brazil. 1970) has lived in Madrid since 1998, where he works as a film director, producer and professor.
From 1999 to 2008 he worked with the producer Elías Querejeta. Among the documentaries he has directed are the feature-length A esteticista (La esteticién / The Beautician, 2004), included in the season “4+1: Contemporary Brazilian Cinema” at San Sebastian Festival in 2012, Goodbye, America (2006), O futebol (On Football, 2015), which competed at Locarno Festival, and Querido Fotogramas (Made in Spain, 2018), and the short films Apuntes sobre el otro (Notes on the Other, 2009) and A Story for the Modlins (2012), winner of the Goya for Best Short Documentary and candidate for the European Film Awards.
His films have received more than 100 international awards and have been the subject of retrospectives at the 798 Art Zone (Beijing, 2012), Alcances (Cádiz, 2014), Festival dei Popoli (Florence, 2016) and the Instituto Moreira Salles (São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, 2018). He is coordinator of the Documentary Cinema speciality at the ECAM, teacher at the EQZE and a member of the Ikusmira Berria Expert Committee since 2016.
