Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Susi Sánchez (Valencia, Spain. 1955) is an actress with an extensive professional background, both in the cinema and in theatre and television.
She has participated in Pedro Almodóvar’s latest productions: La piel que habito (The Skin I Live In, 2011). Julieta (2016) and Dolor y gloria (Pain and Glory, 2019). In 2019 she won the Goya for Best Actress in a Leading Role for La enfermedad del domingo (Sunday’s Illness, Ramón Salazar, 2018). Her collaboration with Salazar also earned her a Goya nomination as Best Supporting Actress in 2013 for 10.000 noches en ninguna parte. Her most outstanding international role is per participation in the award-winning La teta asustada (The Milk of Sorrow, Claudia Llosa, 2009).
Her latest works include Vasil (Avelina Prat, 2020), Cinco lobitos (Alauda Ruiz de Azúa, 2021), and the three installations of Fernando González Molina’s movie adaptation of Dolores Redondo’s El guardián invisible (The Invisible Guardian, 2017), Legado en los huesos (The Legacy of the Bones, 2019) and Ofrenda a la tormenta (Offering to the Storm, 2020).
Her professionalism and talent have been widely acclaimed by the profession, with numerous Spanish Actors’ Union awards for her work both in cinema and in television and theatre, as well as a Best Actress Max Award for her role in the play Cuando deje de llover, in 2014.
