Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Diego Soto Ortiz (Vitoria, Spain. 1974) is a journalist, screenwriter and social media manager connected to the world of film and television. After studying Journalism at the University of the Basque Country, he started to develop his professional activity at EiTB and El Diario Vasco. He participated in the launch of Vía Digital and was hired in 1999 by the multinational Turner. In 2001 he specialised in advertising creativity for the company’s channels (Cartoon network, TCM, TNT) and during 10 years developed campaigns for the leading brands. In 2009 he started to combine his creative work with that of screenwriting. He wrote the short films El grifo (2010) and Libre directo (2011) and in 2015 made the jump to features with Vulcania, a film directed by José Skaf that premiered in the Sitges official selection and was the winner at León Film Festival. He is also the author, among others, of scripts for projects including Un día menos (finalist at MUCES 2011 and special mention at ZINEBI 2016) and El ciclo (special mention at Sitges Pitchbox 2015). He currently collaborates with Warner Media as a coordinator of the TCM channel website and social media, and as head of the digital strategy for series such as Vota Juan and Vamos Juan
