Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Valérie Delpierre (Monaco 1971) created Inicia Films in 2006 with an eye to developing projects by up-and-coming talents and placing special interest in their international careers. Since then, she has produced numerous full-length features, documentaries and short films.
Highlights among her latest projects include David Ilundain’s debut B, winner of the 2016 Feroz Special Prize; Verano 1993 / Summer 1993, Carla Simón’s debut feature, selected by the Spanish Film Academy to represent Spain at the 2018 Oscars and winner of Best First Feature in Berlin; and the short film The Disinherited by Laura Ferrés, which won the Goya and Gaudí awards in that category, as well as an accolade in the Semaine de la Critique at Cannes 2017.
Her upcoming cinema releases include Pilar Palomero’s first narrative feature Las Niñas (Schoolgirls) selected for Berlin and Golden Biznaga winner at Malaga Film festival, and David Ilundain’s second feature film Uno para todos.
Meanwhile, she continues her work on the development of new projects by their authors, such as La Maternal by Pilar Palomero, La Paca by David Ilundain, and Cantando en las azoteas by Enric Ribes. She has also incorporated new talent, such as Camila Moreiras, author of the experimental short Sine Die, and Alex Lora, with the project Unicornios.
She is an active member of the boards of PROA, the Federation of Producers, the Spanish Film Academy and the European Film Academy.
