Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).

Genre cinema and “the magic of watching films in a dark theatre on a big screen, without distractions” will form the thread running through the opening gala of the 67th San Sebastian Festival. The ceremony will be presented by actresses Cayetana Guillén Cuervo and Loreto Mauleón, and will be directed by the director and film producer Borja Crespo. As usual, different guest personalities will announce the section contents and activities; the FIPRESCI Grand Prix will be presented to Roma by Alfonso Cuarón; and the Official Jury chaired by Neil Jordan will make a brief appearance on stage. Finally, the director Roger Michell, the producer David Bernardi and the actor Sam Neill will introduce Blackbird, the Official Selection opening film. The gala will take place tomorrow at 21:00 in the Kursaal Auditorium and will be broadcast live on Spanish Television’s La 2 channel, ETB1, eitb.eus and the Festival website.
