Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Director Isabel Lamberti was born in Germany, but grew up in Spain and then the Netherlands. Her shorts have won awards at festivals around the world and she’s currently in San Sebastián to form part of the New Directors Jury. She says that when she goes to the cinema it’s usually without any preconceived ideas and he just lets herself be carried away by the film. Her own films are a hybrid somewhere between documentary and fiction in which she focuses more on creating poetic worlds and painting landscapes from which the narrative and characters emerge. Once she’s completed her feature debut which is currently in post-production, she’d like to make her next film in the Basque County as she finds there’s something really dramatic about the landscape compared to the monotony of the Dutch countryside.
