Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Ina Weisse, Oren Gerner, Denis Côté, Martín Rejtman and Anna Sofie Hartmann are the film makers who will be giving the masterclasses at the XVIII Nest Film Students initiative running from September 23-27 at Tabakalera.
Organised by the San Sebastian Festival and Tabakalera International Centre for Contemporary Culture, the event aims to showcase work by film school students from all over the world. On this occasion, 14 short films have been selected from the 373 submitted by 186 schools in 46 countries. Over five days, these youngsters will show their work and attend talks with filmmakers who have all brought their films to be screened at the 67th Festival.
A jury chaired by the Argentine director Martín Rejtman and made up of students from the schools taking part will decide the winning short film of the Nest Film Students Award, sponsored by Orona Fundazioa, and worth 10,000 €.
