All copies must carry English subtitles, except English versions that must have subtitles in Spanish. The list of subtitles shall be attached in all cases.

1. The 14th International Film Students Meeting focuses on encouraging and supporting works produced by young talents by showing their short films and promoting the exchange of experiences and knowledge with the San Sebastian Festival guests.
2. The Meeting will take place on 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th September within the framework of the 63rd San Sebastian International Film Festival.
3. The Meeting is open to students attending intermediate or advanced level schools in any country in the world.
4. Each school may propose a maximum of three works produced in the 2013/2014 – 2014/2015 school years. The works shall have a maximum duration of 30 minutes and shall be presented in their original language. In the case of versions other than Spanish or English, the copies must be subtitled in English or Spanish,
5. Registrations should be made online from 1st June to 1st of July, on www.sansebastianfestival.com.
6. The short films will be forwarded to the Festival in one of the following ways:
   • Link: It will be possible to provide a web link from which to download or watch the short film. In order to do this you must indicate both the web link and password to access to it in the registration form. Only links with restricted access will be accepted.
   • DVD: 4 copies in DVD format of each short film shall be sent to the Festival.
     The material will be sent by post or courier before 1 July, bearing the indication “NO COMMERCIAL VALUE. FOR CULTURAL USE ONLY,” to the following address:
7. The selected short films will be added to the “LABURbilduz: shorts from around the world” collection at Tabakalera-International Centre for Contemporary Culture.
8. Two years after the 14th International Film Students Meeting concludes (September 2017) the shortlisted short films will be available to watch in the Meeting’s and Tabakalera’s social networks and they will be also part of Tabakalera’s virtual library.
9. The decision of the Selection Committee for the International Film Students Meeting regarding the selected work will be communicated in the first fortnight of August, by e-mail.
10. The selected works shall be sent to San Sebastian International Film Festival before September 1st in these formats:
    • BETACAM SP PAL / DIGITAL
    • DIGITAL FILES
      Formats: AVI, MP4, MKV, WMV, DivX, MPEG
      Codecs: MPEG-1, MPEG-2 / HD, MPEG-4, DIVX, DIVX HD, XVID, H.264 HD
      (must be sent in a hard ware or pendrive)
11. Each selected school will receive an invitation including accommodation for a maximum of six students. The presence is required of at least both the director or directors of the selected work and one student not related to the film to sit on the jury. It is preferable that this student has knowledge of English.
12. The selected works proposed to the Selection Committee will be made available to professionals in the Festival’s video library and will be included in the official Festival’s catalogue.
13. A specific jury, consisting of students from the participating schools and chaired by a distinguished figure from the world of film, will be responsible for choosing the winner of the International Film Students Meeting award, going to the director of the winning short film.
    • The Panavision Award, carrying a complete camera package including RED Epic camera and Primo standard lenses for four weeks of filming, or a voucher worth €10,000 for renting any kind of Panavision material, for the winning director.
    • The Freak Agency / Feelsales Award that includes the free submissions of the winner film to 50 international film festivals selected by the team of Freak and Worldwide sales agreement except for the school's country of origin.
    • The BioBioCine – Duoc UC Award, with which the winning short film of the Meeting will be directly selected to participate in the next edition of BioBioCine Festival Internacional Concepción Chile.
    • The Jury will also name the three directors who will have the possibility of participating with their works in the Short Film Corner at the next Cannes Festival.
14. A specific jury will give the Orona Award to the most cutting-edge short film of the Meeting, with an endowment of 5,000 euros. This Jury will consist of students from Basque schools, coordinated by a professor from the Mondragon University, and chaired by the Orona Fundazioa's Development Director.
15. A representative from the TorinoFilmLab will be in charge of awarding one of the directors taking part in the Meeting with the Torino Award, with which the winner will be guaranteed attendance to a TorinoFilmLab programme within 2 years after the award is given.
16. Any doubts arising from the interpretation of these rules and regulations will be solved by the Management Committee of San Sebastian International Film Festival.
