Aire libre, an Argentine film that aims to be an invitation to rethink the institution of marriage, was screened in the Official Section yesterday. Starring Leonardo Sbaraglia and Celeste Cid, and directed by Anahí Berneri, it took part in the Europe-Latin America Coproduction Forum at the 2012 Festival.
The underlying question in this film is whether we are prepared to live so long with the same person. It makes use of the redecoration of a country house as a metaphor for the deconstruction of a family. “It’s a film about love; love as a conflict zone, and it attempts to provide an adult vision of the couple, and of my generation,” Bernerí pointed out.
