Three men convicted of murder spent their entire youth in the most brutal prison in communist- eriod Hungary, where they were filmed in some disturbing footage by András Monory Mész. In this they confess details of their crimes and share their plans for the future. Thirty years later Marcell Gerö goes out to find them. “We were preparing a film on prisons and while we were gathering the material, we found this documentary from the 1980s.”
It was really difficult to find the three men and it took themtwo years. They found three people who had been tortured in their youth but who by recalling that period felt that they had the opportunity to talk about things they hadn’t spoken about in thirty years. Later, for different reasons they themselves had made other people suffer in a vicious circle.
