Fernando Guzzoni is a director and screenwriter. In 2008 his documentary La Colorina was premiered in the official competition of the Montreal World Film Festival (Canada). He also won the Best Director Award at the SANFIC 2008 and landed Best Film for the work at the Trieste Film Festival (Italy).
His first feature was Carne de perro (Dog Flesh), a co-production between Chile, France and Germany, developed at the Festival de Cannes Residence 2010–2011. The film enjoyed its premiere at the San Sebastian Festival in 2012, where it won the Kutxa-New Directors Award.
He also landed the Ingmar Bergman Award at the Gothenburg Festival, the Coral for Best First Work at the Havana Festival, the Moviecity Award for Best Chilean Film at the Valdivia Festival, the Rail d'Oc Award at the Toulouse Festival, and the Best Actor Award for Alejandro Goic at the Punta de Este Festival.
The film was listed as one of the five best first Latin American films of the year, was selected for the Cinema Tropical Awards in New York and won the Pedro Sienna Award for Best Supporting Actress. Carne de perro (Dog Flesh) has been selected in more than 30 international festivals, including the Rotterdam Festival.
He is currently working on his second feature film, Niño Nadie, a Chile, France, Holland, Germany and Colombia co-production. The project was selected for the Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum at the San Sebastian Festival in 2013. Winner of the Cinéma du Monde, it was named best project at both the TorinoFilmLab and Australab.
