Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Isabel Herguera, born in San Sebastian in 1961, is a filmmaker and producer of animated film: Spain Loves You (1988), La gallina ciega (2005), Amar (2010) and Bajo la almohada (2011), among other titles.
Alternates her directing work with teaching. Coordinates the Moving Image Laboratory at Arteleku in San Sebastian; is guest teacher at the China Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing, and at the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad (India), where she teaches animation production.
Graduate from Bilbao's Faculty of Fine Arts and from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (Germany), she took an MA in Animation at the California Institute of the Arts(CALARTS) in the USA.
From 2003 until 2011 she directed Animac, Mostra Internacional de Cinema d'Animació de Catalunya, in Lleida, winner of the National Audiovisual Award bestowed by the Consell Nacional de la Cultura i de les Arts (CONCA) in 2009.
Currently works with different groups of women in India on an animated project set around a classic of feminist sci-fi literature.
