Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Juan Bautista Berasategi, founder and head of the production company Lotura Films, was born in Pasai Donibane in 1951.
He debuted in cinema with the short film Ekialdeko izarra in 1977, followed by Fernando Amezketarra (1979), Ikuska 6 and Kukubiltxo (1983). In 1985 he directed the first Basque animated feature film, Kalabaza tripontzia, winner of a Mention of Honour at the 23rd San Sebastian Festival.
These are some of the productions he has participated in, on occasions as a producer and on others as a director: Ipar Haizearen erronka (1991), Sorkunde (1992), Sport Man (1992), Fernando Amezketarra (1995), Ahmed Alhambrako printzea (1997), Lazkao Txiki (1999), Txirrita (2000), Alhambrako giltza (2002), Pailazokeriak (2005), Barriola San Adriango Azeria (2008) and Simplemente (2009).
His latest work is the animated feature film for television, Tormesko Itsumutila.
In his professional career, Juanba Berasategi has accumulated recognitions, prizes and tributes, including:
