Nicolas Provost has come to the San Sebastián International Film Festival with a dual purpose. On the one hand he is presenting his first feature film, L’envahisseur, in the Zabaltegi section, and on the other hand he will be taking up a post as chairman of the 10th International Film Students Meeting Jury. Born in Belgium he is an audiovisual artist who has made several shorts and mediumlength fictional films, but explains that he is a visual artist rather than a film director. “I don’t see any difference between making a fictional film or a short lasting a minute, I always ask myself the same question about what language I can use to surprise the audience and how can I keep their attention until the end. The only difference is that I have to write a script that lasts longer.”
