The story line of Ecuadorian director, Sebastián Cordero’s latest film is about a fisherman who comes across a consignment of cocaine on a beach in Ecuador and decides to become an impromptu drug-trafficker to try and get a break in life.Cordero emphasises that his film is not a story about drug-traffickers. “I didn’t want to show the dark side of drug-traffickers at all. I feel that right now we are swamped with series and soap operas that deal with the world of drug-trafficking and I wanted to avoid the stereotypes that would lead me to make a typical film about drug-trafficking gangsters.”
