Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).

The Zinemira section devoted to Basque Films is opening this year with El último paso, a documentary by Enara Goikotxea and Iurre Telleria about the Reseau Comète escape line that helped allied pilots brought down behind enemy lines in Nazi-occupied France to escape to Spain. English distributors and French and Belgian TV companies have already shown an interest in the film, which is also going to be shown on Basque public television.
Zinemira will include seven feature films as well as the short that will be screened at the Basque Film gala,where Elias Querejeta will pick up the Zinemira award. The section will be rounded off by three shorts, restored by the filmmaker Gotzon Elortza, that were the first to be shot entirely in Basque.
