Filmotech.com, the Internet VOD portal run by Spain’s EGEDA producers’ rights collection society, has rebooted.
Major changes incluye a new Digital Rights Management system, aiding accessibility, and payment facilities, such as billing to móviles, Rafael Sanchez, Filmotech directior, said at San Sebastian Monday.
Filmotech.com has also initiated On-Real streaming, eliminating download time. And created extras: cinema screenings,Amazon-style recommendations, and special spotlights – one on San Sebastian.
“We launched Filmotech in 2007. It was absolutely necessary to offer a legal alternative for online movie consumership,” Sanchez said.
Registered user numbers remain modest: near 15,000. But website hits has increased 50% since the makeover, Sanchez said.
