After his girlfriend breaks up with him, Leo begins to question his own sexual identity. At the same time, he comes across Caro, an old school friend, who also has a secret. That chance encounter will have an impact on each others’ conflicts. Uruguayan Enrique Buchichio chose a very personal subject for his first feature film. Although not autobiographical, he admits that it was a process he also went through. He wanted a story in which the audience could plunge into: "There are other issues involved beyond the acceptance of sexuality, such as friendship or guilt”. Martín Rodríguez, Argentine actor who plays Leo, explains that "we come to know him through his relationships with other characters". El cuarto de Leo was selected for Films in Progress 15 (Toulouse 2009).
