Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The film critic Antonio Gasset, born in 1946 in Madrid, is, thanks to his over 30 years of TV appearances, one of Spain’s most prestigious and best known film experts.
In addition to informing on movie news, Gasset knows the world of cinema from the inside, having collaborated with filmmakers like Elías Querejeta, Jaime Chávarri and Iván Zulueta. Specifically, with the latter of the three, he collaborated on the screenplay of his historic movie Arrebato (1980), in which he also plays a part. Previously, in 1970, Gasset had written and directed the short film Los hábitos del incendiario. He also had small parts in Un, dos, tres, al escondite inglés (1970), by Zulueta and Borau, and Tiempos duros en Ríos Rosas, by Manolo Marinero (1982).
His extensive TVE (Spanish Television) career began in 1974 with the programme Informe Semanal, of which he was the editor and director, moreover occupying the position of assistant director in 1993. From 1994 until 2007 he was the director and presenter of the weekly programme Días de Cine. He is therefore highly familiar with the San Sebastian Festival, on which he reported for many a year.
