Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
The contemporary retrospective this year focused on British filmmaker Terence Davies, who in his long career has only made six feature films between 1984 and 2008, which shows the extrordinary care and dedication he puts into his creative work.
His lyrical narratives deal with social issues such as religion, homosexuality, and the family. Terence Davies came to San Sebastian to attend the presentation of the retrospective which included the screening of his latest film Of Time and the City. The Festival has aldo published a collection of essays about his work coordinated by Quim Casas.
