Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
A member of the Association of Flemish Directors within the Flemish Film Institute, in 1996 he became spokesman for Belgian festivals with the Coordination of European Film Festivals. In 1998, he worked for the production company Epeios Productions and became head of Belgian Focus at the Brussels European Film Festival, of which he was co-director from 2000-2002. That same year he was appointed Chairman of the Belgian Director’s Guild and Director of International Relations and European Affairs at the Flemish Audio-Visual Fund. He has been the Vice-President of Eurimages from july 2004 till july 2005. As a writer, he has moreover published various essays about cinema, books of poetry and theatre.
In 1993, he wrote and produced the film Kameleon, and, since 1994, has worked as a producer and director on eight documentaries, mainly shot in Latin America. His latest works as a co-producer are L’étranger (2004), La raison du plus fort (2002) and as a co-director the TV series Hollywood aan de Schelde (2001).
