Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Bryony Dixon has been working at the British Film Institute for ten years in charge of loans of material from the National Film and Televison Archive (NFTVA) extensive collections of films and television to cinemas all over the UK, and to international film festivals and Cinematheques. She co-programmes the annual British Silent Cinema Weekend and regularly programmes for the National Film Theatre's 'Archive Specials' series in London as well as organising tours of NFTVA film restorations and revivals. Recent programmes have included "Free Cinema", "Psychedelia films" and "Typiquement British" at the Pompidou Centre, Paris, as well as regular contributions to specialist film restoration festivals such as Il Giornate del Cinema Muto and Il Cinema Ritrovato in Bologna. Retrospective sections of international festivals such as the London Film Festival and San Sebastian form a major part of her work and she has participated in this year's Michael Powell season. She is currently working on a research project on British Music Hall and Early Cinema and has written articles on British Silent Cinema, 'Free Cinema' and British Cinema of the 1950's.
