Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
Born in Rome in 1958. He studied cinema at the Sorbonne in Paris and philosophy in Rome. His collaboration with cinema began in 1983 as co-ordinator of the exhibition La Bottega della Luce, about directors of photography in collaboration with Stefano Consiglio, for which he wrote a book and filmed a number of video portraits. A year later he started working with the Roman newspaper, Il Messaggero, with which he has been working as a film critic ever since, while collaborating on different cinema programmes with the RAI Italian TV channel and writing articles for the reviews Filmcritica, Cinema&Cinema, Cinecritica and Cahiers du Cinéma. In 1991-92 he founded and directed the Festival Scrittura & Immagine in Pescara. In 1994 he co-ordinated the exhibition 100 anni di cinema for which he wrote a catalogue and a year later was in charge of the exhibition Cinema Italiano-Ieri, Oggi, Domani. Between 1993 and 1996 he directed, together with Carla Cattani, the section Finestra sulle Immagini at the Mostra in Venice. Since 1997 he has been a member of the selection committee of the critics' week at the same festival.
