Four siblings, three sisters and a brother, return to the family home after having been apart for fifteen years. They're here to nurse their sick mother Patsy. The son, Bo, is released from jail on parelo; the three sisters fight over who's best able to look after their mother, but Patsy doesn't care to be organised and have them all over her, and the father, Vic, would rather have Patsy's illness to himself. Vic can't stomach Bo and the three sisters can hardly bear to be together - or apart. In fact Patsy's greatest wish is not to be found in this family's gene pool.
