Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
These are three of the four episodes of the series produced by Spanish Television, on the life and work of the German director F. W. Murnau, uncovering unknown aspects of his personality and the way he worked. The first studies Nosferatu (1922), returning to film at its original locations. the second analyses the filming of Der letzte Mann (The Las Laugh, 1924) and Tartüff (Tartuffe, 1925), comparing the variations of rhythm and frame between the double takes on the negatives put together by Ufa for export. The third episode is dedicated to Faust (1926), his most ambitious and complex film, of which material from seven different negatives still exist.
