This is a mosaic of everyday persons encountered in Virgil, a small town in Texas. The director, David Byrne, was inspired by numerous journal articles to re-create characters from another time. Mos of them have descriptive names like Cute Woman, Computer Guy, or Lazy Woman. each has a story in his own space and time; it's told by a narrator who visits them in a convertible and who wears authentic Texan clothing. He is the director, David Byrne, leader of the rock group which does the sound track, Talking Heads.
