Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
This film was inspired by the life of Tenório Cavalcanti, a very important figure in Brasilian politics. He was exposed to violence at an early age, having been a witness to his father's death. He moved to Rio carrying a machine gun under his black cape, thus creating alegend about himself. Cavalcanti earned a fortune as well as popularity. In the 40's and 50's, he was a well known politician, winning the vote of the poor by defendint them and acting always in fairness. His newspaper had the largest circulation in Brasil. His popularity confused the middle and upper clases. Having been declared an anti-communists, he united popular forces behin the goverment of Joào Goulart, overthrown in 1964.
