when Viveka, a middle-aged teacher meets Sune Burman, the latter is about to commit suicide.
Sune Burman is an ex-cleric and Viveka is a girl with a rather strange childhood.
Viveka offers him a home, an education, in efect, a whole new life. After seven years of marriage, they find themselves wrapped up in a series of obsessive thoughts brought about by her.
