Daisy Clover, fifteen years old, has no one to celebrate her birthday with. Her mother, a strange and decrepit woman, forgets. While playing, Daisy tapes a song as a present to herself and for something to do, she sends a copy to Hollywood. A studio contracts Daisy and she becomes a star. However, Daisy discovers that happiness and success are not always one and the same.
