Alexandria in 1938. Melissa escapes from the dead en life she leads in the harbour. Darley, an English teacher helps her out and she offers herself as his lover. Nessim Hosnani, a banker, reports the disappearence of his wife, whom he last saw going into the city's rough quarters. Darley meets Justina who seduces him while pretending she is looking for her kidnapped daugther. But Darley does not know that Justina and her husband Nassim are conspiring with sending weapons to the israeli terrorist of Palestine who attack the English to create a Jewish state.
