In 1977 Sid Vicious was new bass player in the Sex Pistols, the infamous British punk rock band. Nancy Spungen was a groupie from Philadelphia recently arrived in London. When Sid and Nancy met, improbably but irrevocably, they fell in love. On October 12th 1978, Nancy's body was found in the Chelsea Hotel, New York. Sid Vicious was arrested and charged with her murder.
