Z365" or "Festival all year round" is the new strategic point of the Festival in which converge investigation, accompaniment and development of new talents (Ikusmira Berriak, Nest); training and cinematic knowledge transfer (Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola, Zinemaldia + Plus, Filmmakers' dialogue); and investigation, disclosure and cinematic thought (Z70 project, Thought and Discussion and Research and publications).
At the end of the 1940's an astonishing event takes place in Spain: an amateur company dares to put on a play without the requisite permits and censor's approval. It is the famous musical, La Corte del Faraón, banned for its political, erotic and religious daring. During a long night in a police station, the police inquire into the reasons leading the group to involve themselves in such a wild venture. The interrogation reveals the details, through the dancing and singing of the musical numbers. On the morning of the following day, several comedians remain in jail, while a wealthy family goes home...
All of the film's action takes place in Madrid and the musical numbers were shot in the Bronston Studios and in the Teatro Martín. The music was recorded in the Kirios Studios with 82 professors of music performing and the coices were recorded int he Circus Studios under the direction of Luis Cobos.
