Manuel Reyes, alias "Pijoaparte", meets Maruja at an open-air dance, realizing a little later that she is the maid of an important Barcelona family. Maruja suffers an accident and is left in a coma, and it is during her stay at her clinic that Manolo, who comes to see her every day, becomes friends and falls in love with the daughter of said family. But Manolo is pushed away and rejected by Teresa's parents, due to his humble origins.
