Clara is a young, independent and intelligent engineer. She becomes pregnant and decides to have the child, who appears to be an autistic boy. This fact progressively opposses her to the rest of the world and leads her to an isolated life with her son, Juan. A mutual fascination emerges between them and they become more and more identified with one another. An old friend of Clara breaks this situation, causing Juan to react violently.
