Gloria, a former night-club hostess, has been the lover of a gangster and now prefers to live quietly and anonymously, in a solitary and remote district. Jack Dawn, one of her neighbours, has been threatened with death, for he knows some financial secrets of a gang, led by Gloria's former lover, and for which he used to work as an accountant. In the face of the danger that is hounding them, Gloria is eventually forced to assume the responsability of the Dawn's child.
