A film on "the oldest job in the world". Sandra is a prostitute from Birmingham who wants to achieve prosperity. She agrees to work in a London massage institute, hoping she will get in touch with businessmen and, why not indeed, with some Arab who will make her wealthy. Her room is rented by Louise, a social worker who will thus know, first hand, the life of the prostitutes, among them Rose, who has four children and is sentenced to jail.
