Obfuscated by unfounded jealousy, Quentin drives his wife Felisa out of the house and waits for a child. Felisa gives birth to a girl in a charity house and survives by begging. In an attempt to soften Quentin's heart, he leaves the baby at the door, but Quentin, in turn, delivers it to a peasant couple. Over the years, Quentin has become a bitter person who still does not believe in the innocence of his wife or recognizes his daughter Teresa.
