Algeria in 1957. Henry Charlègue, director of Alger Démocratique, the only newspaper that opens its columns to the Algerian national opinion, is forced to go underground after the closure of his newspaper. One morning, when he goes to the house of his friend Maurice Oudinot, arrested the day before, he falls into a trap and is caught. He is taken to El Biar, a building transformed into a prison, where he will be interrogated to begin a long stay in the prison.
