This film is about the miners of Peru, who were once peasants and many before, free men. It deals with its history hidden among the folds of the Andes mountain range, in the deep tunnels of the mines and in the offices of their governments. It deals, in short, with the struggle and dispossession suffered by a people of all their rights, their land and their riches and the very meaning of life.
